With the launch of this brand new website, it seems only fitting that I share a snippet of poem about beginnings. This poem, called “Full Circle” originally came from a creative collaboration challenge between myself and my songwriting friend, Dennis Bell. I wrote a spoken-word piece that I could read in the middle of his song “Sometime” while we were both on stage during an open mic on September 13, 2010. Thing is, that little spoken word piece became a much larger poem than I intended at first! I cut down a version of it to fit with the song, but kept the full version to publish later in my first book.
Full Circle
One day we awaken and suddenly
find ourselves here.
Our time variable, limited,
measured in the moons, the planets,
the suns and galaxies
rotating, orbiting, drifting, revolving,
evolving as a Universal living breathing
clockwork of gears.
What am I what are You here
to tell our Self about our Self as flesh and blood
manifestations of rumination and contemplation
becoming aware enough to explore
and make observations about our continuation
and ponder where our place is in the
Grand Scheme of Co-Creation?
